Business Development Specialist – Remote (Ireland)

About the role

We are a fast‑growing Irish engineering and technology company seeking a Business Development Specialist to expand our customer base across industrial automation, product marking, labelling and vision inspection sectors. The role is primarily remote with occasional visits to our Dublin office and attendance at industry events.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within targeted markets.
• Prospect new customers through outbound calls, email campaigns, LinkedIn networking and referrals.
• Introduce qualified opportunities to the technical sales team and track performance against agreed targets.
• Build and maintain relationships with engineering, operations and manufacturing managers, as well as project engineers.
• Maintain a healthy pipeline of prospects and collaborate closely with sales and engineering teams.
• Represent the company at customer meetings, exhibitions, networking events and conferences.
• Achieve KPIs related to activity, pipeline growth and revenue generation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in business development, sales or account management in a B2B environment.
• Proven track record of generating new opportunities and nurturing long‑term client relationships.
• Strong commercial awareness with excellent communication, relationship‑building and negotiation abilities.
• Comfortable engaging with technical stakeholders and learning new technologies.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently in a remote setting.
• Full working eligibility for Ireland.
