Buyer – Retail Product Procurement

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic, commercially‑aware Buyer to join our Buying team at Choice Stores. In this hands‑on role you will select and source product ranges that drive performance across our store network, working closely with suppliers, planners and store teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute customer‑focused product strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Build and manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and trading terms.
• Analyse sales data and market trends to inform buying decisions.
• Collaborate with merchandising and logistics on stock flow and promotional planning.
• Review product performance regularly and optimise the category mix.
• Source innovative, value‑led ranges that meet evolving customer needs.
• Champion the Choice Stores brand in all product selection and supplier interactions.

Required profile

• Ambitious, self‑motivated and collaborative.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proactive mindset with willingness to learn and adapt.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in retail buying or product selection (FMCG or general merchandise preferred).
• Strong commercial acumen and keen eye for trends and customer needs.
• Proven ability to negotiate and manage supplier relationships effectively.
• Excellent analytical, planning and communication abilities.
• High attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced retail environment.
