Buyer – Retail Product Procurement

About the role

Choice Stores is seeking a dynamic and commercially‑aware Buyer to shape the product ranges across its Irish store network. You will be responsible for selecting and sourcing merchandise that meets customer demand while driving commercial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute customer‑focused product strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Build and manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and trading terms.
• Analyse sales data and market trends to inform buying decisions.
• Collaborate with merchandising, logistics and store teams on stock flow and promotional planning.
• Review product performance regularly and optimise the category mix.
• Source innovative, value‑led ranges that meet evolving customer needs.
• Champion the Choice Stores brand in all product selection and supplier interactions.

Required profile

• Ambitious, self‑motivated individual who thrives in a collaborative environment.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in retail buying or product selection (FMCG or general merchandise preferred).
• Strong commercial acumen with a keen eye for trends and customer needs.
• Proven ability to negotiate and manage supplier relationships effectively.
• Excellent analytical, planning and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Passion for retail and a drive to deliver growth.
