Category Sourcing Expert – IT (12-Month Contract)

About the role

We are partnering with a large, complex organisation to find a Category Sourcing Expert (IT) on a 12‑month contract. Based in Dublin or Limerick on a hybrid basis, you will lead end‑to‑end sourcing for IT and technology categories, working closely with senior stakeholders and key suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Execute strategic sourcing initiatives across IT and technology categories.
• Manage the full sourcing lifecycle – spend analysis, market research, RFx, bid analysis, contract negotiation and supplier performance monitoring.
• Negotiate commercial terms for new and renewal agreements, including master agreements, cloud contracts, SOWs and order forms.
• Collaborate with internal teams such as Legal, Tax, Contract Management and policy groups.
• Lead supplier negotiations at senior management level and support relationship management for strategic suppliers.
• Analyse financial and commercial data to identify cost‑saving and value‑creation opportunities.
• Run multiple sourcing projects concurrently in an agile, matrixed environment.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• Proven experience in category sourcing, supplier management or procurement within complex, multi‑geography organisations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead negotiations and manage stakeholder relationships at senior level.
• Strong commercial acumen, detail‑orientation and solution‑focused mindset.

Required skills

• Strategic sourcing and procurement tools such as Ariba and SAP.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and Google Workspace.
• Knowledge of commercial contracting terminology.
• Professional certifications (CIPS, CPSM, CPM, CSCP, Lean Six Sigma) are desirable.
