About the role
The Pharmacy & Medicines Optimisation (PAMO) Directorate is seeking a Chief Pharmacist to lead its Medicines Information service. This senior position ensures the safe, effective and economical use of medicines for patients across the hospital.
Key responsibilities
- Provide up‑to‑date, accurate medication information and advice to healthcare professionals.
- Support the development and maintenance of drug policies within the Mater Medicines Guide and associated mobile app.
- Collaborate with Clinical Pharmacy, Dispensary, Drug Safety and Pharmacy Cancer Services to promote best practice.
- Contribute to the creation of evidence‑based resources that enable prompt access to validated medication data at the point of care.
Required profile
- Qualified pharmacist registered with the relevant professional body.
- Extensive experience in medicines information, drug policy development or related clinical pharmacy functions.
- Strong understanding of hospital pharmacy operations and multidisciplinary collaboration.
