Civil Engineer / Site Engineer (Private Road Project)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer / Site Engineer to join a leading civil‑engineering contractor on a private road project in Athlone. The role involves managing a greenfield site that includes utilities installation, drainage, ducting and road surfacing, delivering high‑quality infrastructure on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Set out and supervise works on the greenfield road project.
• Manage utilities installation, drainage, ducting and surfacing operations.
• Coordinate with site management to meet programme and quality targets.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and the wider project team.
• Maintain accurate site records and produce regular reports.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in civil engineering or site engineering.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Proactive, motivated attitude with strong problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of GPS equipment, setting out and machine control.
• Experience with drainage, ducting, utilities installation and road construction.
