Assistant Project Engineer - Wastewater

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Project Engineer to support the technical delivery of wastewater infrastructure projects across Ireland, the UK and international markets. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the design, construction and site supervision of sustainable water solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development of engineering designs from concept through detailed design, construction and site supervision.
• Take direction from Senior Project Engineers and Project Managers while providing day‑to‑day technical guidance to junior team members.
• Manage assigned work packages, ensuring safe delivery, adherence to programme and budget.
• Prepare technical deliverables such as engineering reports, calculations, designs, drawings and specifications.
• Communicate project progress internally and with clients, highlighting risks and issues.
• Contribute to solving technical challenges using sound engineering judgement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years experience in wastewater engineering, including feasibility studies, detailed design, procurement and construction contract administration.
• Experience supporting consultancy services and basic project‑management activities is desirable.
• Highly motivated with a strong desire to develop a long‑term consultancy career.
• Excellent time‑management, organisational and communication skills.
