Civil Estimator

About the role

We are seeking a Civil Estimator to join a leading Irish construction contractor’s Business Unit in Dublin. This position offers exposure to estimating, procurement, package management and pre‑construction on large, technically complex civil infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed, timely cost estimates to support tender bids.
• Engage with the supply chain during tendering to secure accurate pricing for work packages.
• Hand over tender estimates to project teams once contracts are awarded.
• Maintain strategic oversight of macro‑economic conditions to shape bid‑winning strategies.
• Mentor and coach junior estimators, supporting their career development.

Required profile

• BSc (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 + years of estimating experience, primarily on heavy civil engineering projects such as infrastructure, roads, bridges, utilities, marine works or major groundworks.
• Recent experience operating at Senior Estimator level on large‑scale civils or infrastructure contracts.
• Proven track record working with a main contractor on sizable projects.
• Analytical approach to estimating and commercial decision‑making.
