Cloud DevOps Engineer

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced Cloud DevOps Engineer to join their technology team in Dublin. The role is full‑time and permanent, focusing on building and operating secure, scalable AWS infrastructure and driving automation across the software delivery pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain secure, highly available AWS cloud environments.
• Build, maintain and optimise CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD or Azure DevOps.
• Implement monitoring, logging and alerting solutions with CloudWatch, Splunk, Dynatrace, Prometheus and Grafana.
• Automate Linux system configuration and management using shell scripting and DevOps best practices.
• Collaborate with development, security and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable, compliant solutions.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, incident management and root‑cause analysis.
• Enforce security best practices, access controls and compliance within AWS.
• Identify opportunities for automation, performance optimisation and cost reduction.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, Cloud Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer role.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on operational excellence.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Route 53, CloudWatch).
• Infrastructure as Code – Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
• CI/CD platforms – Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps.
• Containerisation – Docker and Kubernetes.
• Linux system administration and shell scripting.
• Monitoring and observability tools – Splunk, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana.
