Commercial Counsel – EMEA

About the role

Anthropic is looking for a Commercial Counsel to join its founding Commercial Legal team in EMEA. The lawyer will act as a strategic partner to sales, guiding complex technology transactions and ensuring responsible AI deployment across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, focusing on go‑to‑market and sales contracts with enterprise customers throughout EMEA.
• Partner with Sales and Go‑to‑Market teams to accelerate deal velocity and provide practical legal guidance.
• Develop and maintain commercial legal infrastructure, including contract templates, playbooks and process improvements.
• Identify, assess and appropriately escalate legal risks while supporting business momentum.
• Stay up‑to‑date on legal developments affecting AI technologies.
• Build relationships with external stakeholders such as clients, regulators and industry partners across the region.

Required profile

• Law degree and qualification to practice law in an EMEA jurisdiction.
• Minimum 4 years of legal experience, preferably with commercial contracts, SaaS agreements or technology transactions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to translate legal concepts for non‑lawyers.
• Collaborative, low‑ego approach and a “doer” attitude.
• Interest in AI technology, AI policy and responsible AI development.
• Comfort working in fast‑paced environments with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
