Commercial Legal Counsel – ICT & Data Protection

About the role

We are seeking a Commercial Legal Counsel to join the legal team of a leading international financial services organisation in Dublin. The role will provide legal advice to all levels of the bank across the EMEA region and globally, focusing on ICT and data‑protection matters.

Key responsibilities

• Act as legal advisor to the bank on a broad range of commercial and regulatory issues.
• Draft, review and negotiate ICT‑specific contracts, including software licensing, SaaS/cloud services, outsourcing and consultancy agreements.
• Prepare data protection agreements and ensure compliance with GDPR and other privacy regulations.
• Support the bank’s third‑party services strategy and operational resilience initiatives.
• Monitor and advise on EU regulations such as DORA and the AI Act.

Required profile

• Irish or UK‑qualified solicitor with 4‑9 years post‑qualification experience.
• Demonstrated experience in drafting and negotiating ICT and technology‑related contracts.
• Background in commercial law, procurement, data protection, intellectual property and cyber‑security legal issues.
• Familiarity with UK/EBA outsourcing requirements, EU DORA and the EU AI Act is advantageous.
