Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine

About the role

The Hospital is seeking a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine to join its multidisciplinary team. This senior medical position involves delivering specialist rehabilitation services to in‑patients and out‑patients within a 37‑hour work week.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert clinical assessment, diagnosis and management of patients requiring rehabilitation medicine.
• Lead multidisciplinary case conferences and coordinate care pathways with physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other allied health professionals.
• Supervise junior doctors and trainees, contributing to their education and professional development.
• Participate in audit, research and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with hospital policies and national regulations.

Required profile

• Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council of Ireland.
• Specialty qualification in Rehabilitation Medicine.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland and hold a valid medical practising licence.
• Demonstrated experience in a senior clinical role within a hospital setting.
