About the role

The Health Service Executive (HSE) Mid West region is seeking a Consultant Urologist to join the multidisciplinary team at University Hospital Limerick. This senior clinical position offers the opportunity to deliver high‑quality urological care to a diverse patient population while contributing to teaching and research activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist outpatient, inpatient and surgical urology services.
• Lead and mentor junior doctors, registrars and allied health staff.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient management plans.
• Engage in clinical audit, research projects and teaching of medical students.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of urological best practices and guidelines.

Required profile

• Medical degree recognised in Ireland.
• Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council of Ireland.
• Full HSE eligibility for consultant posts.
• Demonstrated experience in urological surgery and patient care.
