Control Room Operator – Operational Controller

About the role

Join Optinergy’s 24/7 Renewable Energy Control Room as an Operations Controller. You will monitor wind, solar and battery assets across Ireland and the UK, respond to alarms, support field technicians and maintain accurate operational records.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor renewable energy assets in real time using SCADA and other operational systems.
• Identify and respond to faults, alarms, outages and site communication issues.
• Support safe transfer of control under Wind Turbine Safety Rules.
• Check site access, work activity and personnel status.
• Escalate faults and operational issues to the appropriate contacts.
• Act as a primary point of contact during emergencies and abnormal events.
• Monitor adverse weather conditions and issue alerts when required.
• Update operational logs, check sheets, tickets and third‑party systems.
• Ensure accurate shift handovers between Operations Controllers.
• Prepare reports and updates for internal teams, clients and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to stay focused for long periods and remain calm under pressure.
• Good organisational skills and a practical technical background (electrical, mechanical or operational).
• Willingness to work a rotating 24/7 shift pattern.
• Proficient written and spoken English.
• Ability to follow procedures and correctly escalate issues.
• Interest in renewable energy, control‑room operations or power generation.

Required skills

• SCADA systems.
• Microsoft Office 365.
