Data Analyst / Power BI Developer

About the role

Our client, a leading financial services organisation, is looking for an experienced Data Analyst / Power BI Developer to enhance and deliver enterprise reporting and analytics on a modern cloud‑based data platform. The role involves data analysis, dashboard creation, testing and close collaboration with business stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and translate business requirements into reporting specifications.
• Analyse, validate and reconcile datasets in a cloud data warehouse using SQL.
• Design, develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Enhance data models, semantic layers and reporting calculations for self‑service analytics.
• Participate in system integration testing and user acceptance testing, handling defects and resolutions.
• Investigate and resolve day‑to‑day data and reporting issues with technical and business teams.
• Support data governance, quality controls, reconciliations and validation processes.
• Produce and maintain documentation such as report specs, testing evidence and user guides.
• Engage with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet operational needs and drive data adoption.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst or Reporting Analyst.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organisational abilities.
• Experience in regulated or data‑intensive environments is advantageous.
• Third‑level degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics or related field.

Required skills

• SQL for complex dataset analysis and validation.
• Power BI for report and dashboard development.
• Experience with cloud‑based data platforms such as Snowflake.
• Knowledge of data modelling concepts and reporting best practices.
• DAX calculations and semantic modelling within Power BI.
