Data Centre Technician – Technical IT (Contract)

About the role

This entry‑level, hands‑on position supports Microsoft data‑centre operations through Allegis Global Solutions. You will work on physical IT tasks such as de‑commissioning hardware, removing and labeling cables, and following detailed checklists under senior technician guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Remove network and power cables during data‑centre de‑commissioning projects.
• Run, label, stage, and organise power and network cabling.
• Perform DBD removals (no scanning or data processing).
• Prepare, stage, start up and shut down hardware using written guides.
• Assist with installing, replacing and de‑commissioning IT equipment.
• Conduct physical audits of data‑centre assets.
• Work onsite during core business hours with flexibility for extended shifts.

Required profile

• High school diploma / GED or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of experience in IT or data‑centre support.
• Ability to follow written instructions, checklists and standard operating procedures.
• Comfortable performing physical, hands‑on work in a data‑centre environment.

What we offer

• On‑site work at Clondalkin, Ireland (DUB24, D22 XF88, DUB60).
• Fixed‑term contract for 4 months 16 days.
• Hourly rate of €29‑€32 (PAYE).
• 40‑hour weekly schedule, Monday‑Friday 8:00‑16:30 with flexible hours.
