Databricks Data Architect – Hybrid (Financial Services)

About the role

We are seeking a senior Databricks Data Architect to lead a high‑impact data transformation initiative within a financial services environment. The role is hybrid, offering flexibility across Europe, and involves both strategic design and hands‑on implementation of lakehouse solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evolve scalable data models using the Bronze, Silver, and Gold medallion layers in a Databricks lakehouse architecture.
• Lead the creation and deployment of production‑grade batch and streaming pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
• Act as an on‑site architectural advisor, translating complex business requirements into technical designs.
• Guide distributed onshore and offshore engineering teams, establishing technical standards and ensuring delivery quality.
• Champion data governance, lineage, quality, and cost/performance optimisation across the platform.

Required profile

• 8–10+ years of experience in data architecture and large‑scale data platforms.
• Proven expertise in Databricks‑centric environments and Spark‑based processing.
• Strong stakeholder management skills combined with a hands‑on technical approach.
• Background in financial services, insurance, or other regulated sectors is highly preferred.
