DevOps Engineer

About the role

eBay’s Mobile DevOps team is looking for a DevOps Engineer to own and evolve the CI/CD platform that builds, tests, signs, and releases the company’s global iOS and Android applications. You will work on a distributed system of high‑throughput Jenkins and GitHub Actions pipelines, large macOS/Xcode and Android build fleets, and hybrid cloud/on‑prem compute, all while ensuring reliability, security, and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Improve system throughput and determinism across CI/CD pipelines by reducing flakiness, optimizing parallelisation, and enhancing cache efficiency and stage isolation.
• Increase fleet reliability and performance through capacity planning, autoscaling strategies, workload scheduling, and failure‑domain analysis for macOS and Android runners.
• Strengthen observability by instrumenting metrics and logs, building actionable dashboards, and reducing time‑to‑detection and time‑to‑recovery.
• Enhance software supply‑chain integrity with secure code signing, secrets management, artifact validation, and automated security controls in CI workflows.
• Participate in incident response, perform root‑cause analysis, and drive systemic reliability improvements.
• Collaborate across platform, infrastructure, security, and mobile engineering to evolve architecture and boost developer productivity at scale.

Required profile

• Experience engineering or operating production CI/CD systems (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) with a solid understanding of pipeline architecture and failure modes.
• Strong systems‑level diagnostic skills in Linux and macOS environments, including command‑line proficiency.
