Distributed Generation Site Manager – Dublin

About the role

The Distributed Generation Site Manager will lead operation and maintenance activities across multiple renewable assets in the Dublin region, including battery storage, gas turbine peaking plants and other flexible generation technologies. This position offers the chance to work within ESB’s ambitious Net Zero by 2040 strategy and gain extensive commercial and technical experience.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee on‑site operations of diverse assets such as Battery Energy Storage Systems and Gas Turbine Generation across the Dublin region.
• Ensure safety and environmental compliance, implement plant procedures, site policies and safety programmes.
• Provide rapid on‑site response to alarms, faults and events, both during and outside normal working hours.
• Manage service providers and contractors, including inductions and work authorisations.
• Support optimisation of O&M life‑cycle and asset management planning.
• Coordinate planned and unplanned outages and assist with mobilisation of new assets.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years hands‑on O&M experience in power generation or a related process industry.
• Technical or engineering qualification (Mechanical, Electrical, Control & Instrumentation) or equivalent operational experience.
• Mechanical knowledge of rotating machinery.
• Electrical knowledge applicable to generation assets.
