EFL Teacher (Cover Teacher)

About the role

English Path is seeking qualified EFL teachers to work as cover teachers. You will deliver engaging English lessons across a range of courses, including General English, ESOL, IELTS, Cambridge exam preparation, Business English and more.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess student work to meet learning outcomes.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and complete administrative duties.
• Develop, update and improve course materials as needed.
• Utilise a variety of teaching methods, including live online learning.
• Attend meetings, contribute to decision‑making and collaborate with team members.
• Arrive on‑site at least 15 minutes before the first lesson.
• Participate in regular meetings with the Director of Studies to set and review objectives.
• Take part in induction, ongoing training and monthly CPD sessions; DELTA‑qualified teachers may lead training.
• Support broader organisational activities as required.

Required profile

• Minimum CELTA or Cert TESOL qualification (essential).
• DELTA, Trinity Dip TESOL or equivalent master’s level (desirable).
• Bachelor’s degree in any subject (essential).
• Proven experience teaching similar English courses.
• Creative and structured approach to lesson planning.
• Commitment to professional development and mentoring junior staff.
• Experience with distance learning and face‑to‑face instruction.
• Comfortable using classroom technology.
• Professional conduct, flexibility, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
