Electrical Design Engineer – Building Services

About the role

We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our well‑established engineering firm in Dublin. Working hybrid (2‑3 days in‑office) you will design electrical systems for a variety of building projects as part of an integrated project team.

Key responsibilities

• Design and specify electrical engineering solutions for buildings in line with current regulations and standards.
• Collaborate directly with clients and project engineers to define requirements and develop technical solutions.
• Lead pre‑construction activities, including design development, construction details, services coordination, technical sub‑mittals and sub‑contract management.
• Provide technical support to estimating, procurement, commercial and bid teams.
• Offer off‑site technical assistance to construction teams during the build phase.

Required profile

• Strong technical ability across all aspects of electrical engineering services and design.
• Third‑level qualification in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a design consultancy environment.
• Knowledge of current Design Guides, Building Regulations, EN and IEC standards.
• Experience using Dialux and Amtech software.
• Proven experience interacting with clients, vendors and contractors.
• Proactive attitude with excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a multifunctional team.
