About the role
Whatnot is seeking an experienced Employment Counsel to lead employment‑law support across multiple international markets, including Ireland, the UK, Germany, Japan, and Australia. The role partners closely with the People team and business leaders to provide practical, business‑focused legal advice in a fast‑moving global environment.
Key responsibilities
- Advise on hiring, performance management, workplace investigations, restructurings, and separations across the covered jurisdictions.
- Develop, implement, and scale compliant employment programs, policies, and practices.
- Draft and review employment agreements, policies, and other legal documents.
- Guide the organization on works council, trade union, and collective bargaining obligations.
- Support cross‑border compliance and expansion into new markets.
Required profile
- Deep expertise in Irish and UK employment law with meaningful experience in other international jurisdictions.
- Proven ability to prioritize risk, navigate ambiguity, and deliver actionable legal advice.
- Strong judgment, decisive under pressure, and excellent communication skills.
