Engineering Graduate Programme

About the role

The Engineering Graduate Programme at King & Moffatt Building Services is a two‑year, rotational development path for recent engineering graduates. Participants will rotate through four key areas – Operations, Design/BIM, EHSQ and Commercial – gaining hands‑on experience across office and site environments.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret contract specifications, employer requirements and construction drawings.
• Assist the procurement team by preparing order requests, updating trackers and liaising with suppliers.
• Study service schematics and P&ID drawings for water, heating, cooling, ventilation and electrical systems.
• Size hydraulic lines and ventilation ductwork on live projects.
• Perform cable calculations using specialised software.
• Apply electrical containment installation methods (conduits, trays, ladder racks).
• Understand pipework components, jointing methods, valves and gauges.
• Follow EHSQ procedures, complete risk assessments and method statements.
• Prepare variation orders and issue tender packages to subcontractors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Eagerness to learn and contribute within a team environment.

Required skills

• BIM and design software familiarity.
• Reading and interpreting P&ID and service schematics.
• Hydraulic line and ventilation duct sizing.
• Cable calculation tools.
• Electrical containment installation techniques.
• Pipework jointing and valve knowledge.
• EHSQ compliance procedures.
