Finance Director – Strategic Leadership Role

About the role

This senior finance position will lead the Irish finance function of a global pharmaceutical company while partnering closely with the international leadership team. You will provide strategic commercial insight, drive financial performance and support decision‑making at the highest level.

Key responsibilities

• Strategic partnering with the General Manager and senior leadership, delivering financial insight and scenario planning.
• Lead FP&A processes, including annual budgeting, forecasting and long‑range planning.
• Prepare board‑level monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packs with clear commentary.
• Oversee financial control activities such as month‑end close, balance‑sheet ownership and working‑capital management.
• Manage statutory compliance, year‑end reporting, audit coordination and tax obligations.
• Supervise local treasury functions, cash‑flow management and banking relationships.
• Develop and mentor a high‑performing finance team.
• Drive continuous improvement through automation, stronger controls and scalable finance processes.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant from a large practice.
• 10+ years of progressive finance experience across industry and/or practice.
• Strong FP&A, budgeting, forecasting and commercial decision‑support experience.
• Proven leadership managing finance teams and senior stakeholders.
• Technical accounting, audit and statutory reporting expertise.
• Experience in pharma, life sciences or other regulated industries is advantageous but not essential.
