Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join the senior leadership team of a high‑volume retail business operating across Ireland. Based in the head office in Dublin, you will own the finance function and drive strategic financial management for the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic financial management initiatives.
• Lead the finance team and oversee preparation of financial reporting and analysis.
• Manage the annual audit process and year‑end close.
• Coordinate annual budgeting and forecasting aligned with strategic objectives.
• Oversee cash flow, treasury management, internal controls, regulatory compliance and balance‑sheet reviews.
• Identify and implement continuous improvements to financial systems.
• Ensure compliance with taxation and statutory obligations.
• Prepare business cases to support strategic and investment decisions.
• Maintain strong relationships with investors, banks and regulatory bodies.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with several years of post‑qualification experience in an SME environment, preferably a high‑volume transaction business.
• Proven track record of adding value and delivering results under tight deadlines.
• Strong technical accounting expertise and ability to interact confidently with senior leadership.
