General Accounting Team Member – Statutory & Tax

About the role

This is a 12‑month contract position based on‑site at our Cork Airport Business Park. Reporting to the Statutory Compliance Team Leader, you will support the General Accounting Department by preparing statutory audit files, financial statements and tax computations for our German operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage local statutory audit files and financial statements for various European Avery Dennison entities, including bridge reconciliations between US GAAP and German GAAP (HGB).
• Support execution of tax computations in line with ASC 740, quarterly tax reporting and forecasting for US GAAP entities.
• Perform month‑end and quarterly US GAAP reporting for assigned business units.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure timely filing of annual tax returns and support tax audits.
• Analyse financial data from the General Accounting system and assist with pension forecasting for Germany.
• Deliver excellent customer service to finance business partners and manage outsourced month‑end processes with Accenture.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant with proven business partnership experience.
• Hands‑on experience with Sarbanes‑Oxley controls and ERP systems.
• High‑volume reconciliation experience and strong technical accounting competence.
• Full fluency in English and reliable attendance record.
