Head of Crew Training

About the role

As the Head of Crew Training you will provide strategic direction and leadership for the crew training division of a leading aviation organisation in Dublin. Reporting directly to the accountable manager, you will ensure training programmes meet Irish, EASA and IOSA requirements while supporting the performance and well‑being of your team.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the overall crew training strategy, aligning it with company goals and regulatory standards.
• Oversee onboarding, recurrent training and assessment for pilots, cabin crew and other crew members.
• Develop and maintain training programmes that comply with EASA regulations, IOSA SARPS and Irish aviation law.
• Provide technical input for operational and emergency procedures, with a focus on Boeing 737 aircraft systems.
• Manage training delivery logistics, scheduling, resources and departmental budgeting.
• Collaborate with Safety, Compliance and HR to identify training needs and create tailored plans.
• Monitor training effectiveness through periodic evaluations and adjust programmes as needed.
• Stay current with regulatory changes, industry trends and technological advancements.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in aviation training or a related field.
• Ability to act as the Nominated Person for Crew Training and liaise with senior management.
• Strong track record of managing team performance, motivation and well‑being.
• Experience controlling departmental costs within a defined budget.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Boeing 737 aircraft systems.
• Expertise in EASA regulations and IOSA standards.
• Familiarity with Irish aviation regulatory requirements.
