Healthcare Assistant

About the role

Lotus Care is seeking an experienced Healthcare Assistant to join its residential and respite services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. You will work in a homely community setting in Birr, providing person‑centred care and support.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality personal care, hygiene, feeding and daily living assistance.
• Support the emotional, social and physical wellbeing of service users.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment in line with health‑and‑safety standards and individual care plans.
• Promote the rights, dignity and individual needs of service users.
• Facilitate participation in community and recreational activities.
• Monitor and report safeguarding, welfare or health concerns according to company policies.
• Undertake additional duties as directed by management.

Required profile

• Minimum QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support, Social Care or an equivalent.
• Previous experience supporting children or adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to delivering high standards of care.
