Healthcare Lawyer (Regulatory & Compliance)

About the role

A&L Goodbody is seeking an ambitious Solicitor with 1-2 years PQE to join its Healthcare & Life Sciences team, based in North Wall, Dublin. The role focuses on regulatory and compliance and product liability, advising Irish and international clients and law firms on EU and Irish pharmaceutical and healthcare regulation across the healthcare, BioPharma, MedTech, animal health, food and cosmetics sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on product classification, authorisation and certification, promotion, marketing, advertising and hospitality requirements, and compliance and enforcement risks
• Cover licensing, registration and certification of manufacturing facilities, wholesale distribution and supply chains, and GMP and GDP compliance
• Advise on CE marking, MDR and IVDR requirements for medical devices
• Handle market access, pricing and reimbursement, including HSE applications and price review responses
• Respond to regulatory authorities such as HPRA, HIQA, the Department of Health and the HSE on inspections, audits and investigations
• Support corporate teams on establishing operations in Ireland and on regulatory aspects of corporate transactions
• Defend manufacturers and producers in product liability claims, and advise on product recalls and withdrawals

Required profile

• Demonstrated sectoral interest and relevant experience as a trainee and newly qualified solicitor
• Excellent academic achievements and technical legal ability in the relevant sectors
• Comfortable dealing with complex legal concepts and working to tight deadlines
• Clear, concise communicator who works collaboratively with the team and across the firm
