High School English Teacher – Years 7-10

About the role

Newmont is seeking a qualified High School English Teacher to deliver engaging lessons to Years 7‑10 students at its Lihir operation in Papua New Guinea. You will create a safe, inclusive learning environment and help students develop critical thinking and communication skills.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver English lessons aligned with the Australian Curriculum and PNG Standards Based Curriculum.
• Create supportive classroom atmospheres that promote student wellbeing and achievement.
• Design lesson plans, learning resources, and assessment activities that inspire curiosity.
• Monitor, assess, and report on student progress while collaborating with parents and the school community.
• Participate in co‑curricular and extra‑curricular programs to enrich the student experience.
• Work closely with teaching colleagues, school leadership, and support staff to continuously improve outcomes.

Required profile

• Experience teaching English to Years 7‑10 students.
• Familiarity with the Australian Curriculum and PNG Standards Based Curriculum.
• Ability to foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
• Strong communication skills for partnership with parents and the wider school community.
