Hospital Pharmacist – OPD, IPD, OT & Critical Care

About the role
The Hospital Pharmacist will support medication procurement, safe dispensing, and clinical collaboration across outpatient, inpatient, operating theatre and critical care areas. The role ensures compliance with regulatory standards and contributes to high‑quality patient care in line with NABH and JCI guidelines.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in procurement of medicines and consumables.
- Dispense prescribed medications, verify dosage, appropriateness and potential interactions.
- Counsel patients on proper medication use and possible side effects.
- Manage and monitor inventory in OPD, IPD, OT and emergency units.
- Handle and document narcotics and controlled substances according to NDPS Act.
- Maintain records, support audits and ensure compliance with quality and safety protocols.
- Liaise with clinical staff to resolve medication‑related queries.
- Participate in pharmacy committees, quality improvement and clinical initiatives.
- Ensure proper storage conditions, expiry tracking and handling of high‑risk medications.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B. Pharma) – mandatory.
- Valid license/registration from the relevant pharmacy council or board.
- 3–5+ years of experience in a hospital pharmacy setting (OPD, IPD, OT or narcotics).
- Familiarity with hospital information systems, EMR and e‑prescriptions.
- Experience with insurance claims, billing and formulary‑based drug substitution.
