Hotel Controller (Senior Income Auditor)

About the role

The Hotel Controller will act as the Senior Income Auditor for Muckross Park Hotel & Spa, ensuring that all daily revenue transactions are accurately recorded and reported. Working closely with the Front Office and the wider finance team, you will help maintain robust financial controls and support the Accounts Receivable function.

Key responsibilities

• Audit and verify daily revenue transactions in the Property Management System (PMS).
• Reconcile daily and monthly sales, cash, and card receipts.
• Support the Accounts Receivable ledger, validating debts and following up on outstanding items.
• Reconcile VAT calculations and assist with compliance to SOPs.
• Provide accurate accounting postings for the Front Office.
• Report on variances between actual and budgeted revenue.
• Manage cash floats, petty cash, and prepare monthly cash reports.
• Assist the centralised Accounts Payable team with property invoice queries.
• Liaise with hotel management and group finance as required.
• Perform ad‑hoc accounting tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hotel accounts, income audit, or accounts receivable.
• Familiarity with hotel Property Management Systems (Opera or Hotsoft is a plus).
• Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in data handling.
• Good organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Clear communicator comfortable working across departments.

Required skills

• Opera/Hotsoft (hotel Property Management System) – advantage.
• Microsoft Excel.
• Microsoft Office suite.
