HR Generalist

About the role

Dawn Meats, a food production and meat processing company supplying retail, foodservice and restaurant customers internationally, is looking for an experienced HR Generalist in Charleville, Co. Cork. This is a permanent, hands-on HR role covering recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, HR administration, payroll processes, GDPR compliance and HR systems in a busy manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support day-to-day HR operations across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, contracts, induction and offboarding
• Advise managers and employees on employee relations, absence management, performance management, discipline and grievance processes
• Assist with work permit administration and pre-employment checks for non-EU recruitment where required
• Prepare HR reports and workforce data on absence, turnover, annual leave and working time compliance
• Support payroll administration and liaise with payroll and finance on pay-related matters
• Support HR projects, employee engagement initiatives, graduate recruitment and ethical audit requirements

Required profile

• Third-level qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline
• Minimum 2 years' experience in an HR Generalist, HR Officer, HR Coordinator or similar HR role
• Strong knowledge of Irish employment law, HR best practice and GDPR requirements
• Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, absence management and HR administration

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Experience with HR systems such as CoreHR / PeopleXD is an advantage
• Payroll administration experience is an advantage
