IT Desktop Support Technician – Weekend Shift

About the role

We are looking for a proactive IT Desktop Support Technician to deliver on‑site technical assistance for desktops, laptops, peripherals and network equipment in a corporate environment. The position requires weekend coverage with rotating night shifts, ensuring rapid resolution of hardware and software incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site field support for hardware, software and operating system issues while respecting warranty and security policies.
• Install, troubleshoot and repair desktops, laptops, printers and other peripherals.
• Deliver desk‑side break/fix services for Windows, and where possible Mac or Linux systems.
• Perform Smart Hands tasks on routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls, racks and data termination panels.
• Assist with basic LAN/WAN networking tasks, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and RDP troubleshooting.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis of recurring problems and contribute to preventive actions.
• Maintain accurate ticket updates in ServiceNow or Remedy and communicate status to users and internal teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in IT field or desktop support.
• Strong hands‑on troubleshooting skills for hardware and software.
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lb.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Windows OS support (mandatory); Mac/Linux OS support (preferred).
• Hardware repair for desktops, laptops and printers.
• LAN/WAN fundamentals, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, RDP.
• Smart Hands tasks on routers, switches, firewalls and cabling.
• Ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Remedy.
• Problem and incident management with preventive focus.
