Java Developer – Day Rate Contract (Hybrid, Dublin)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer to join our team on a day‑rate contract. The position is hybrid, based in Dublin, and supports the delivery of business‑critical applications in a structured enterprise environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new application features and enhancements from technical specifications, functional requirements, and user stories.
• Produce effort estimates for assigned development work.
• Write clean, maintainable Java code following agreed standards.
• Support unit testing, integration testing, and defect resolution.
• Collaborate closely with testers, analysts, developers, and project stakeholders.
• Assist with system testing, release activities, and issue investigation.
• Update project tracking tools such as Jira.
• Participate in code reviews and share knowledge.
• Provide guidance to junior team members when required.

Required profile

• Strong commercial experience in Java development.
• Proficiency with Spring and/or Hibernate.
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience working with Web Services and data formats like XML and JSON.
• Unit and integration testing experience, preferably with JUnit.
• Experience in enterprise application development environments.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
