L3 Data Centre Technician

About the role
Our client, a global managed IT services provider, is looking for an experienced L3 Data Centre Technician to join its fast‑paced data centre operations team in Dublin. The role involves providing advanced technical support for hardware, networking and infrastructure within a high‑availability enterprise environment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform physical data centre tasks such as racking and stacking servers, network gear and storage devices.
- Install and terminate structured cabling (copper and fibre) to industry best‑practice standards.
- Configure, install and maintain networking equipment including switches, routers and patch panels.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and infrastructure faults, owning L3‑level escalations.
- Support hardware lifecycle activities – installs, de‑commissions, moves, adds and changes (IMACs).
- Maintain accurate asset records in ticketing/ITSM systems and follow health‑safety, security and change‑management procedures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, runbooks and SOPs.
Required profile
- 4–6 years of hands‑on experience in a data centre or technical infrastructure environment.
- Proven L2/L3 experience with racking, stacking and structured cabling.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (switching, routing, patch/port management).
- Strong hardware troubleshooting skills across servers, storage and network devices.
- Ability to work independently, lead complex issue resolution and mentor junior staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication for client and internal stakeholder interaction.
- Willingness to work on‑site in Dublin and participate in shift/on‑call rotations if required.
