Lecturer in Computer Science – Cybersecurity or Hardware (2 positions)

About the role

The University of Galway invites applications for up to two full‑time permanent Lecturer positions in Computer Science. Each appointment will focus on either Cybersecurity / Secure DevOps or Next‑Generation Hardware / Network Architectures, supporting the School’s strategic vision for research‑intensive teaching.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the chosen specialism.
• Supervise student projects, theses, and research activities.
• Develop and manage externally funded research programmes, acting as principal investigator.
• Secure competitive research grants from bodies such as Research Ireland and the ERC.
• Foster national and international collaborations with academia and industry.
• Contribute to programme administration and curriculum development.

Required profile

• Demonstrated world‑class research record or strong potential from industry experience.
• Evidence of teaching excellence at university level.
• Ability to lead large‑scale research projects and supervise research groups.
• Commitment to high‑impact publications in peer‑reviewed venues.

Required skills

• Expertise in Cybersecurity or Secure DevOps (for one position).
• Expertise in Next‑Generation Hardware or Network Architectures (for the other position).
