Lecturer in Health Research Methodology (Full‑Time, Permanent)

About the role

The University of Galway invites applications for a full‑time, permanent Lecturer in Health Research Methodology within the College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences. The position is based in the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Evidence Science and will contribute to the Discipline of Evidence Science and the Centre for Health Research Methodology.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in health research methods, evidence synthesis and clinical trials methodology.
• Develop and supervise student research projects and theses.
• Lead methodological research, securing funding and publishing in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Collaborate with the HRB‑Trials Methodology Research Network, Evidence Synthesis Ireland and Cochrane Ireland.
• Contribute to curriculum design and continuous improvement of the programme.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent experience in a health‑related research discipline.
• Demonstrated expertise in health research methodology, including systematic reviews and trial design.
• Strong record of scholarly publications and successful research grant applications.
• Experience teaching at university level and supervising graduate students.
