Lecturer in Medical Imaging & Radiation Therapy

About the role

University College Cork is seeking a full‑time Lecturer in Medical Imaging & Radiation Therapy. Based in Cork, the role combines on‑campus teaching with flexible remote preparation and student support.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials and practical sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
• Supervise clinical‑related learning and provide academic guidance and mentorship to students.
• Contribute to curriculum development, assessment design and quality‑assurance activities.
• Engage in scholarly activity, research and integration of evidence‑based practice into teaching.
• Participate in departmental and school committees and collaborate with clinical partners.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Diagnostic Radiography or an equivalent qualification.
• Registerable with CORU under the Radiographers Registration Board.
• Demonstrated teaching excellence in diagnostic radiography or related subjects.
• Desirable: doctoral degree or equivalent research experience with publications, and a qualification in tertiary education practice (e.g., graduate certificate in teaching and learning or HEA fellowship).

Required skills

• Knowledge of diagnostic radiography and radiation therapy principles.
• Curriculum development and assessment design.
• Ability to supervise practical and clinical learning environments.
