Legal Counsel – Commercial and Contracts

About the role

Apple is looking for an experienced Payments Attorney to join its Legal Department in Dublin. The role will support the Apple Pay and Wallet team across Europe and Emerging Markets, focusing on regulatory, product, and commercial matters that affect Wallet, Payments, and Commerce.

Key responsibilities

• Act as product counsel for Apple Pay and Wallet, interpreting legal and regulatory requirements.
• Structure and negotiate complex commercial agreements with third‑party payment providers.
• Advise on contract structures, commercial terms, and intellectual property considerations for Apple’s partners and customers.
• Translate applicable Irish and European laws into actionable guidance for product teams.
• Support service expansion initiatives by providing legal risk assessments.

Required profile

• Significant experience providing product advice for mobile wallets, payment cards, and alternative payment services.
• Proven track record drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Strong knowledge of Irish and European directives, regulations, and laws affecting payments, open banking, e‑commerce, and consumer finance.
• Familiarity with data‑privacy and personal financial information regulations is preferred.
• Demonstrated work ethic, collaboration skills, and ability to operate within a global legal team.
