Legal Counsel – Commercial Lawyer (12‑Month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Our client, a global food and nutrition company with €3 billion in annual revenue, is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join its in‑house legal team on a 12‑month fixed‑term basis. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will manage commercial risk and support business growth across international operations, working from Dublin or Kilkenny with hybrid flexibility.

Key responsibilities

• Review, draft and negotiate commercial contracts on a day‑to‑day basis.
• Lead corporate M&A transactions, from due diligence to closing.
• Drive Irish commercial litigation, liaising directly with barristers and overseeing external counsel for cross‑border disputes.
• Provide advice on contractual enforcement, joint ventures and intellectual‑property matters.
• Support business integration projects, update company policies and mentor junior legal staff.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with 5+ years post‑qualification experience in commercial law.
• Proven track record in commercial contracts, M&A and litigation.
• Experience in a fast‑moving, multinational environment.
• Desirable qualifications in IP or commercial contracts.
