Licensing Lawyer – Corporate & Regulatory

About the role

William Fry LLP is seeking a Licensing Lawyer to join its Litigation and Investigations department. The successful candidate will advise clients in the retail and hospitality sectors on licensing requirements, prepare court applications, and liaise with regulatory authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on licensing processes, compliance obligations and regulatory frameworks across relevant sectors.
• Prepare and present court applications, manage licence applications, renewals, variations and transfers.
• Draft correspondences, submissions and supporting documentation for regulatory bodies.
• Liaise with regulators, advisers and third parties to progress applications and resolve issues.
• Track licence conditions, renewal dates and compliance obligations.
• Conduct legal and regulatory research to support advisory work.
• Maintain accurate client files in line with confidentiality and risk‑management procedures.
• Support client relationship management and contribute to business development where appropriate.

Required profile

• Experience working in licensing, regulatory or legal support within a law firm or professional services environment.
• Familiarity with Irish and/or EU regulatory frameworks relevant to retail and hospitality clients.
• Strong academic or professional background in law, compliance or a related discipline.
• Prior experience in a top‑tier or mid‑tier law firm, preferably in transactional or advisory work.
