Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of production and engineering systems at one of Ireland’s largest food processing sites in West Cork. You will work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment where uptime is critical.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, routine inspections and safety checks on production equipment.
• Support electrical and mechanical systems, including automation controls, sensors, pneumatics and basic instrumentation.
• Respond to breakdowns, perform fault‑finding and repair equipment quickly.
• Assist with installation, commissioning and upgrades of new machinery.
• Help develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programmes.

Required profile

• Experience maintaining equipment in a manufacturing or food‑processing environment.
• Electrical and/or mechanical maintenance background (qualification or strong hands‑on experience).
• Good understanding of automation systems, sensors, controls, pneumatics and electrical fault‑finding.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced setting.
• Basic IT/computer skills for reporting and maintenance documentation.
