General Operator – Shift Work (3‑Shift Rotation)

About the role

The General Operator works on a three‑shift rotating schedule in Enva’s plastics plant in Carrickmacross. The role involves operating a range of equipment and handling plastic waste in line with legislative and company requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Process incoming plastic waste according to standard operating procedures.
• Operate shredders, wash plant and extruder machinery as required.
• Load and unload vehicles delivering or collecting waste material.
• Complete required paperwork and administrative tasks for each shift.
• Maintain a safe working environment by wearing PPE and reporting hazards.
• Perform routine checks, inspections and audits on equipment.
• Support off‑site operations such as waste oil and field services when needed.
• Participate in plant meetings, training sessions and company briefings.

Required profile

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self‑motivated and able to adapt to changing business demands.
• Strong focus on health and safety compliance.
• Willingness to undergo pre‑employment medical assessment and drug/alcohol testing.

Required skills

• Forklift or power pallet truck operation (training provided).
• Operation of shredders, wash plant and extruder equipment.
