Mechanical Automation & Maintenance Fitter

About the role

Dawn Meats is seeking a Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitter (MAMF) to join its primary production site in Carrolls Cross, Co. Waterford. The role supports plant maintenance strategies, ensures production schedules are met, and provides technical problem‑solving for the plant and maintenance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Execute plant‑specific maintenance strategies to achieve performance goals.
• Assist production teams to keep schedules on track and resolve issues promptly.
• Inspect machines and equipment for compliance with standards.
• Complete work orders safely, adhering to company procedures.
• Upload job details to handheld mobile field technology upon completion.
• Develop in‑depth knowledge of all site mechanical equipment.
• Maintain full and accurate paperwork and follow health‑and‑safety regulations.

Required profile

• Qualified Mechanical, Automation & Maintenance Fitter (MAMF) with at least 3 years post‑apprenticeship experience.
• Experience with machines, process equipment, controls, and automation.
• Background in electrical and mechanical installations, maintenance, and refrigeration systems.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Effective troubleshooting ability.
• Full driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible approach to shift work, overtime and on‑call duties.
