Mechanical Engineer – Aerospace Flight Control

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer to join an innovative aerospace engineering company that develops advanced flight‑control systems for conventional and electric aircraft. Based in Shannon, Co. Clare, the role offers a hybrid work model and involvement across the full product development lifecycle, from concept through testing, manufacturing and production.

Key responsibilities

• Support the complete product development process, from initial concept to manufacturing.
• Design mechanical systems and components and produce detailed engineering drawings and documentation.
• Develop, build and test prototypes, performing engineering analysis and interpreting results.
• Evaluate product performance, reliability and safety, and propose practical solutions to engineering issues.
• Modify existing designs to enhance functionality and performance.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation, and assist with project planning and budgeting.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing, production and cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience using CAD and CAM tools in an engineering environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with good technical writing skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid setting and contribute to continuous technical development.

Required skills

• SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo/ProE (or equivalent CAD packages).
• ANSYS (or similar engineering analysis software).
• MATLAB, LabVIEW (or comparable engineering tools).
• Fundamental knowledge of mechanics, materials, thermodynamics and kinematics.
