Mechanical Engineer – Infrastructure & Systems

About the role
We are partnering with a national organisation that operates safety‑critical infrastructure to hire an experienced Mechanical Engineer. The role is based in Dublin with a hybrid working model, offering exposure to large‑scale projects and complex operational environments.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical input on the design, implementation and continuous improvement of site infrastructure and plant.
- Support power, cooling, building control and related systems, including upgrades, configuration changes and new service rollouts.
- Troubleshoot live issues, perform corrective and preventative maintenance, and manage return‑to‑service timelines with stakeholders.
- Conduct system testing and resilience checks to ensure high availability and robust performance across multiple sites.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, asset records and configuration data.
- Liaise with vendors and service providers, monitor service levels and coordinate remedial works.
Required profile
- Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in infrastructure, facilities or building‑services engineering supporting critical systems.
- Strong knowledge of plant, power distribution and control/monitoring systems, including diagnostics and fault‑finding.
- Proven analytical and problem‑solving abilities with the capacity to prioritize and manage a varied workload.
- Comfortable working to strict safety, security and procedural standards in a regulated environment.
