Mechanical Project Engineer

About the role

Arcadis is looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join a GMP‑regulated manufacturing project on Little Island, Cork. This 12‑month fixed‑term role offers flexible working hours and the chance to lead small‑to‑medium mechanical capital projects from design through handover.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver mechanical capital projects, managing scope, budget, schedule and progress reporting.
• Provide on‑site construction support, coordinating and supervising mechanical contractors during installation, commissioning and handover.
• Prepare mechanical work scopes for tendering and support contractor selection.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary design reviews and technical sub‑mittal assessments.
• Monitor project risks, issues and status, reporting to the Capital Projects Manager.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality and GMP standards, including RAMS reviews and safety audits.
• Support cost estimating, budgeting, cost control and project tracker updates.
• Provide process engineering and equipment support to ensure designs are fit for purpose and lifecycle‑cost optimized.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in site‑based mechanical capital projects, including construction supervision, commissioning and handover.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety, contractor management and quality/validation in regulated industrial environments.
• Proven ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
