Medical Advisor – Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolism

About the role

AstraZeneca is seeking a Medical Advisor to join its Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism (CVRM) therapeutic area in Dublin. The role is 100% office‑based and focuses on shaping the medical strategy for CVRM products, providing scientific guidance and supporting patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and execution of the drug’s medical scientific plan, aligning with strategic guidelines and budget.
• Serve as custodian of medical and scientific data, keeping knowledge up‑to‑date on specific drugs and studies.
• Collaborate with Global Medical Affairs leads and internal stakeholders to implement local study, publication, and medical education programs.
• Analyse competitor products from a medical‑scientific perspective and share insights.
• Participate in developing the local strategy, clinical activities, and the Medical Plan for the product.
• Plan national medical‑scientific activities with external experts and scientific societies.
• Support cross‑functional brand teams, work with marketing on brand materials, and respond to sales queries on scientific information.

Required profile

• Strong communicator with the ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
• Experience in medical affairs or related scientific roles within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Ability to maintain bidirectional collaboration with global therapeutic area teams.
