Nesting Technician / CAD-CAM Programmer

About the role

Our client in Listowel, County Kerry, is looking for an experienced Nesting Technician / CAD‑CAM Programmer to join a skilled engineering and steel‑fabrication team. You will create and optimise CAD/CAM programmes for advanced 3D laser cutting, develop bespoke programmes and ensure accurate production data for a range of engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Create and optimise CAD/CAM programmes for 3D laser cutting and fabrication.
• Develop bespoke programmes to meet precise production requirements.
• Interpret 2‑D drawings, 3‑D models, STEP files and Bills of Materials.
• Verify design data before release and optimise nesting to maximise material usage.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve workflows.
• Support troubleshooting, continuous improvement and maintain production records.

Required profile

• Proven experience with CAD/CAM systems in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Attention to detail and problem‑solving mindset.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a technical team.
